Volunteering

Memorial Day Work Weekend:

Camp Lutherhoma has a weekend every year that is dedicated to helping camp gear up and prepare for Summer Camp and the rest of the year. Memorial Day Work Weekend is set aside as a time where families, couples, or individuals can come and stay at camp for free. We provide housing, meals, and some entertainment during down times. This is a great time to meet new people, enjoy yourself, and support Camp Lutherhoma all at once!!!

Servant Events

If you are a church group, youth group, LSF College group, or any other type of group interested in doing servant events Camp Lutherhoma could be the place for you. We are always looking for help with building, cleaning, and other necessities around camp. If you are looking for a place to do community work as well, Camp Lutherhoma has numerous contacts within the Tahlequah community that would allow you to do some servant event work.

Golf Tournament Helpers

Our annual Golf Tournament, held each April, is a fun and wonderful event. It takes an army of volunteers to organize and conduct the tournament. You can bring your family for the day, help with just part of the day, and enjoy time with friends who love Jesus and have been blessed by Him through Camp Lutherhoma.

Light Maintenance and Housekeeping

We welcome those of you who are called to serve Him by just volunteering your time and energy to get camp cleaned and maintained. When we have so many more retreat groups than ever before, it takes quite a bit of labor to get it ready for each group. yard and building maintenance, cleaning, laundry, making beds, cooking, you name it! Let us know if this type of service interests you.

The 9th annual Lutherhoma Golf Tournament Fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, April 28th, 2018. Although that seems far away we want you to put it on your calenders now.

We are also wanting to begin early this year with the planning

This will include: Raffle Prizes, Volunteers to help with the planning, Finding organizations, companies and groups that can support us with hole sponsorships or donations, Thrivent Action Team grants to help fund the costs of the tournament.

We would even love to find someone, or some group, to fund the bulk of the overhead costs. This way, we can at the same time support Camp Lutherhoma, but we can also have fun golfing with our friends and families.

Registration will start in early 2018, but you can contact us now to let us know how YOU would like to be a part of this huge event.

We are also looking for donors to support the tournament. You can donate by...

1. Donating prizes for the raffle - Some examples are: Gift Certificates, Gift Cards, Food Baskets, Items from your business or store, Golf Goodies, Baked Goods, almost anything you can think of. We need Prizes! Contact us at 918-458-0704 or email us and we will get that gift from you before the day, or you can bring it to the tournament.

2. Become a Hole Sponsor
- Banner Level Sponsor - $700 - Large Banner Displayed at Course, Registration for Golf Foursome, Tee Box Sign, Gift
- Platinum Level Sponsor - $500 - Registration for Golf Foursome, Tea Box Sign, Gift
- Gold Level Sponsor - $250 - Tee Box Sign, Gift
- Bronze Level Sponsor - $100 - Tee Box Sign
All will get their name or their company name on a hole sign and in the program.

3. Help finance the entire cost. We have overhead costs of about $6000 each year, including the cost to the golf course, food, prizes, trophies and plaques, etc. You could designate a donation to help offset these expenses.

4. Volunteers - We need about 10-15 volunteers to help throughout the day of the tournament. Anyone is welcome - spouses, friends, former camp staff... We also will be having a volunteer training dinner as an extra way to prepare our volunteers: date to be determined.

Thrivent Financial Action Teams

Camp Lutherhoma has been blessed by this program offered through Thrivent Financial. If you are, or become, a member of Thrivent by owning one of their financial products, you can easily organize a volunteer event called an Action Team. If approved by Thrivent Financial you will receive some seed money to help get your project funded. Go to Thrivent Action Teams to learn more about how you can support Camp Lutherhoma. We have benefited from several Thrivent Action Teams projects with the Golf Tournament, flowers in the planters, games and booths for the JOY service project, and much more. Think of ways you and your Thrivent friends can help camp out this year!

General Fund Donations
 

God has truly blessed Camp Lutherhoma for many years. We have been able to grow and expand our ministry with your prayers and support. We operate with three basic branches: Program fees, rental income, and donations. Without about 1/3 of our income coming from general donations we would not be able to offer the programs, staff and facilities that we currently provide. Please consider becoming a regular donor toward our General Fund to help us fulfill our mission and goals.

Gayle Ross Memorial Campership Fund

A key way to help hundreds of campers experience Camp Lutherhoma is to donate to the Gayle Ross Memorial Campership Fund. Each year we distribute financial aid to about 70 campers requesting help, and who meet the application requirements. Each year we spend almost all of the funds in the campership account, and rely on our supporters to fill it back up, ready to have it bless all those requests. Please make this part of your Camp Lutherhoma giving and support.

If you own a financial product with Thrivent Financial, you can designate their fraternal dollars to Camp Lutherhoma. It costs you NOTHING. Thrivent Financial will calculate the amount they will contribute to Camp Lutherhoma based on the value of your products. Simply go to their web site and sign in to your account and follow the links to Thrivent Choice Dollars. Once there, we appreciate your designating your Choice Dollars to Camp Lutherhoma. Look up our name in the list of Approved Organizations.

Items You Can Donate

In our printed fall newsletter, on our facebook page, and in our e-newsletters we often list items that we are needing. We have received many blessings, such as quilts for Pine and Aspen retreat cabins, vehicles to help us at camp and to travel to other churches and schools for promotional visits, maintenance and kitchen equipment, and much more.
